Minnie was the eldest of nine known children of David Henderson Stevenson (1853-1931) and his first wife, Martha (Sis) Elizabeth Russell Stevenson (1857-1903), who married 06 Jan 1878 near Brunot, Iron County, Missouri. After Sis died, David remarried to Mrs. Margarette (Maggie) Elinore Marsh Berry (1863-1927) on 06 Mar 1917 near Brunot, Iron County, Missouri, but had no known additional children.
Minnie married Noah Albert Ward (1872-1935) on 17 Dec 1895 at Brunot, Wayne County, Missouri. Minnie and Noah were the parents of two girls and one boy. The first two children were born in Wayne County, Missouri and the family was living at Cowan Township, Wayne County, Missouri in 1900. Between 1900 and 1905 the family homesteaded on land above Hoquiam on the Pacific coast of Washington, where their third child was born. The three known children were:
1. Edna Ethel Ward Ownby (1897-1993)
2. Ramon Hines Ward (1899-1935)
3. Bessie Mildred Ward Ownby Ownby (1902-1969)
Minnie was living in Washington State when she got word of her mother's death. She took a train back to Missouri. During an open buggy ride from the train station at Greenville, Wayne County, Missouri to her father's house near Brunot, she caught cold and died of pneumonia. She is buried in an unmarked grave.
