Susie passed away in a cycling accident. She was born to Emiko Murata and Gerald K. Akana in San Diego on Jan. 30, 1960. She graduated from James Madison HS in 1979 working various jobs and for AT&T the last 10 years. Divorced in 2006, she found a new love, the outdoors. Traveling extensively around the country and overseas her adventures took her to new places and new friends. She volunteered for literacy tutoring, contributed to the foster care program, and fed the homeless. Her unbounded generosity was rivaled by an unlimited capacity to forgive, and a fierce devotion to her children. Her vivacious love of life and big heart was infectious to everyone around her. Beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, cherished sister, survived by her mother, Emiko, two sons, Chris and Daniel Butler, grandsons, Justin and Jonathan, brothers William and Roy, and sisters Eilynn, Anna, and Kathryn. We Love you Susie and miss you so much. Memorial Services Friday, Sept. 24th, El Camino Memorial, Sorrento Valley
