Lance Cpl. Anthony J. Rosa, 20, of Swanton, Vt., died Sept. 23 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C. "Chuckie" is survived by his mother, Darcie Berger of Swanton; his father, James Rosa of Tampa, Fla.; four sisters and one brother, Jessica Rosa and her husband, Adrian Valentin, of Ft. Myers, Fla., Jennifer Rosa of Orlando, Fla., James Rosa II of Tampa, Fla., Shannon Ariel Berger of Swanton, and Alexis Marie Rosa of Swanton; his maternal grandmother, Ariel Corbiere Berger of Swanton; his paternal step-grandmother, Rosita Morales of Puerto Rico; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends too numerous to count, including his very dear friends, Jack Pelkey, Dave St. Pierre, Travis Gingras, Austin Fillion and Nathaniel Fortin. Anthony was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Harold G. Berger in 2006; and by his paternal grandparents, Jose A. Rosa in 2005 and Maria C. Herrans in 1982.
