Died from a Pulmonary Abscess.
Husband of Geraldine Ann "Jerrie" Wilson, married May 4, 1880, Crittenden Co. KY.
Son of James William Rankins and Martha M. Bentley-Rankins.

G.L. Rankin for many years a merchant of Weston, died at his residence in this place Sunday night of abscess of the lungs.
He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Geraldine Wilson, daughter of George Wilson of that section, and several children. One daughter, Miss Madge, being now in Arizona for her health and one son, Earl, now in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Gertrude, another daughter, is at Evansville and Wilson, a son, at Cario, J.P., the oldest son lives at Mt. Zion. The other three were at home, George L., Jr., Jerry and Dick.

George L. Rankin was born in Henderson County, Ky., Feb. 15, 1848, and came to Weston in 1872, where he has been in business ever since. He has been postmaster since 1885, almost continuously, has been agent for the Evansville and Paducah Packet Co., since 1887.
On account of the severe weather and bad roads, the body was interred at Weston for the present and will be moved to Mt. Zion later.
