Mr. Kirker was born Sept. 28, 1946, at Emanuel Hospital in Portland to James and Elizabeth (Tobey) Kirker, the youngest of three children. He resided in the Portland the Milwaukie areas of Oregon until moving to Las Vegas, Nev., as a teenager. There he graduated from Western High School in 1965. Following a year a the University of Nevada at Las Vegas he returned to Oregon, where he graduated from Portland State University with a degree in business in 1969. He married Inez Mathison in 1967 in Las Vegas.
He was employed for 18 years in the telephone industry before purchasing a motel in Boardman in 1990, and he continued as owner/operator of the motel until recently retiring.
Mr. Kirker is survived by his wife, Inez Kirker of Ocean Park, Wash., and Boardman; daughter Laura Morris of Hermiston; brother William Kirker of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister Charlotte Hill of Boardman; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by infant daughter Janet Ann Kirker.
