Russian aristocracy. Born Vsevolod Ivanovich Romanov at Marble Palace, St Petersburg, Russia, the son of Grand Duke Ivan Konstantinovich Romanov and Princess Helena Karageorgievich of Serbia. In October 1918, he escaped the Bolsheviks, fleeing to Sweden with his paternal grandmother, his sister Ekaterina, his uncle, aunt, and cousins, where he was reunited with his mother. During his childhood, he moved to Paris, then to Belgrade, and finally London. He attended Eton and Oxford. In 1939 he married Lady Mary Lygon, daughter of the 7th Earl Beauchamp, and divorced her 17 years later. Later marriages included Emilia de Gosztoyi and Valli Knust. He had no children. He died in London at age 59.
