Married December 23, 1928. Grew up in Homer Township, Bates County, Missouri.

They grew up together in the same community, knew each other all of their lives, were born on the same date, fell in love and raised a family with Christian love.

There was a time period he lived with another family in town so that he could easily attend school. I believe it was when his parents lived on the farm further away from the school. I think he said that it was for a few years. (told to Ann)

Faithful Christian, baptism at Mulberry United Presbyterian Church (sprinkling)in 1917 and rebaptism (emersed) at Belleview Baptist Church 1932 Feb in Memphis, Tennessee.

Married Gladeus Sergent on 23 December 1928 at First Baptist Manse at 1273 Vinton, Memphis, Tennessee.

They were very active in the Belleview Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. Often walking to church when they could.

They have three daughters: Jane Ann, Virgina and Alice.
