Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel (Bear Creek) United Church of Christ, conducted by the Rev. Charles Jones and Pastor Robert Freitas. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Holder family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Gordon Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.
Mrs. Holder was born Aug. 15, 1918, in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late Cleveland R. Barrier and Annie Elizabeth Lipe Barrier. She was a retired bank teller for First National Bank, First Union Bank and First Citizens Bank of Albemarle. She was a member of Bethel (Bear Creek) United Church of Christ where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and women's fellowship. She was also a member of the Business Professional Women of Albemarle. Her first husband, William L. Penninger; second husband, James Holder; and a daughter, Lenita Bratton, preceded her in death.
She is survived by daughters, Thyra Yorke and husband Alvin of Golden, Colo., Val Wyant and husband Mike of Benton, Kan., Pat Harwood and husband Ronald of Mount Pleasant, Pamela Elium and husband Randall of Salisbury and Willa MooYoung and husband Arthur of Mount Pleasant; sisters, Edith McGlamery and Helen Studdert, both of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Carisa Y. Dueweke, Janna Y. Connick, Curtis, Michael, Jim Wyant, Kimberly W. Jagan, Brian and Martin Harwood, Jennifer and Jessie Elium, Matthew, Martina and Amanda MooYoung; 11 great-grandchildren; and special care giver, June Hardin.
