Son of Harry Charles Rawding and Etta A. Kithcart Rawding.

Donald, who resided in Harrington, Delaware, served as an Ensign on the M.S. Sunoco, Merchant Marines during World War II.

He was "Lost At Sea" when the M.S. Sunoco was sunk during the war.

He had served in the Merchant Marines for three years at the time of his death and was awarded the Mariner's Medal.
