Cherished wife of Donald T Kenning (retired Lutheran Minister) of 66 years. Beloved Mother of Donna, Paul, Karen, Sheryl, Brian, Randy, Cindy, Terry, and Shauna. Loving Grandmother to 26 Grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Accomplished artist, writer, and art instructor. Loretta loved to sing, and dance with her children when they were growing up. Loretta was a beautiful lady and was noticed for her red hair, that she passed on to every third child, and several grandchildren as well. Loretta was the daughter of Charles and Viola Winnebrinner, and had two siters ,Betty and Edna.
Loretta showed her support to her husband's ministry by acting as church secretary, member of church choir, serving as Sunday School Teacher, and Bible School Teacher, and as member of th Women of the Church League. She ensured her children had good values as well, being by their side as they said their prayers each night.
Growing up we did not have great riches, but we were rich in the love that Mom and Dad bestowed upon us. Every Easter all the girls would have new dresses hand made by Mom, and the boys would have new white suit coats fashioned by Mom as well. At Christmas the girls had flannel baby doll PJ made by mom and the boys long flannel pajamas. We have many good memories of the picnics we had and the trips to the zoo on Sunday afternoons. As my brother Brian said we had a hug when we did good and a spanking when we didn't. Mom loved all her children and never stopped worring about us even as adults. Loretta was truly a great Mom and wife. We all love her dearly and our hearts will have an emptyness in her passing. Mom we love and miss you. You will live on in the hearts of all your family.
