OBITUARY
Last rites for Alva Eugene WOOD, 72, were conducted at the First Baptist Church, with Sanford Cole conducting the services, assisted by Alfred White, minister of the Church of Christ.
Interment was in the Canadian cemetery under direction of Stickley Funeral Home.
Mrs. WOOD died October 29, 1956 at the hospital in Shattuck, Oklahoma.
A native of Texas, she was born in Belton on November 7, 1883.
She is survived by her husband I. A. (Bert) WOOD of Canadian; one daughter, Mrs. Euna MATHEWS of Canadian; one son, H. L. ADKINSON of Pampa; one sister, Mrs. Mattie FAIRCHILD of Lincoln, Texas and one brother, W. L. MELTON of Burnett, Texas.
Pallbearers at the funeral services were Frank HUTTON, Frank COLE, Ed LITTLE, Charlie CALLAWAY, R. M. HOBDY and Jess LINDLEY.
