John Henry Evans, 1851 – 1929. 59097570. was born 21 Mar 1851, at Burlington, Iowa to Robert Alexander Evans and Elizabeth Shoemaker Evans. In 1877 he married Miss Lusetta Jane Norris of Iowa, and they moved to Nebraska in 1883. They first located at Ord. The next year they moved to Loup County, and in 1890 to Thedford, Thomas County. He was engaged in newspaper work about seven years, but became a practicing lawyer in Thedford, Nebraska.
The official positions he has held were:
• Judge of Loup County.
• Attorney in Thomas County for twelve years.
• Chairman of the Republican Central Committee of Thomas County.
• Thomas County Attorney.
