Actor. Born in Upsolial, Russia, he appeared in 66 films between 1926 and 1953. He migrated to the United States in 1925, reported himself as an actor and was naturalized in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. He made his first US film debut in "Fine Matters" (1926), followed by "Sorrows of Satan" (1926). Cast most in roles as a handsome villain, his credits include "Bombshell" (1933), "Passport to Alcatraz" (1940), "Foreign Agent" (1942), "California Conquest" (1952) and "The World of the Worlds" (1953), which was his last movie. He died in Los Angeles, California, of a heart attack at age 57.
