Edwin A. Key, Sr., 68 Years Old, Dies
Edwin Ambrose Key, Sr., 68 years old, 2118 Quincy Avenue, died at 5:45 o'clock Tuesday morning at his home. He was born in Argentine, Kan., on September 25, 1894 and lived in Joplin since 1920. He was a mail carrier in Joplin for 32 years, retiring in 1955. A member of the American legion, he was a World War I veteran, a member of the Presbyterian church and the Letter Carriers Association. He is survived by his wife, Pearl G. Key, whom he married on May 31, 1920 in Carthage; two
sons, Dr, Edwin A. Key. Jr., who is chief of staff at Jane Chinn hospital in Webb City, and S. L. Key, 3302 East Thirteenth street; one daughter, Mrs. Eileen Giesc of Butte, Mont.; three sisters, Ms. Ophelia Key of Fort Scott,
Kan., Mrs. Nellie Lovell of Mapleton, Kan. and Mrs. May Dwyer of Wichita, Kan., and eight grand-children. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Mason Chapel.

Funeral services for Edwin Ambrose Key, Sr., a retired mail
carrier, who died Tuesday morning in his home at 2118 Quincy avenue, will be at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon in Mason chapel. The Rev. E. W. Love will officiate.
Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park cemetery. Mail carriers will be pall-bearers.
NOTE FROM FAMILY MEMBER: Edwin was the 2nd cousin of Lewis Cass Mincher. A history published in 1913 on an Iowa Civil War regiment. Two Key brothers served in that unit, but it also stated that their father, George Key, and brother, Ambrose Key, served in a Texas Confederate unit (possibly drafted).
