James Henry Boynton, whose name was misrepresented in a widely used Huckins family genealogy as 'James Huckins Boynton,' was born in Meredith, New Hampshire in 1838. He married Silena Lucina Guilford in Franklin, New Hampshire near her home in Salisbury, New Hampshire - and they resided for the first years of their marriage in the Boston area. James contracted 'consumption' (tuberculosis), and the family moved to southern New Jersey for the 'healing sea air.' However, James succumbed at the age of 38 to his illness, and Silena continued to raise their four daughters on her own, remarrying much later after her children were grown. She rests to the right of him in the Boynton family plot.
In documentation found for James Henry Boynton in a Huckins Family Genealogy assumes his middle name as 'Huckins.' In fact, it was 'Henry' per direct family history documentation from his daughter Leila, passed down directly and faithfully through word of mouth to this generation (Leila's great-granddaughter.) Another great-granddaughter to whom recently connected confirmed that her family, too (descended from James' daughter Emma (Boynton) Judson, also had the same information.
