DEATH CLAIMS JERRY MARTZ
Lifelong Resident Of Adams County Dies Early This Morning
Jerry R. Martz, 78, lifelong Adams county resident, died this morning at 1 o’clock at his home near Monroe after an extended illness He had suffered from paralysis for years.
The deceased was born in Adams county December 24, 1862, the son of G. H. and Sarah Martz. He was married to Rosa Mullen, who survives.
He was a member of the Monroe Friends church. Surviving, besides the widow, are three sisters; Mrs. Della Baker of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Mrs. Mae Blossom of Ottawa, Ohio, and Mrs. Mary Nickerson of Anderson; one step-brother, James Stogdill of Fort Wayne.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the residence southeast of Monroe, and at 2 o’clock at the Monroe Friends church, with the Rev. Susie Sprohl officiating. Burial will be in the Ray cemetery near Monroe.
The body was taken from the Lobenstein funeral home in Monroe to the residence this morning, where it may be view until time for the services.
