J. B. Carr Died in Monroe Hosp. Past Tuesday
James L. Carr, 62, who resided at the Columbia Hotel in Columbia, died in a Monroe hospital after a brief illness Tuesday morning.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Riser and Son Funeral Home chapel in Columbia, with the Rev. Jimmie Bolton, pastor of The First Baptist Church of Columbia, in charge.
Burial was mad in Fellowship cemetery in ward 5 community.
Mr. Carr was the son of the late Pross Carr and was a native of ward 5. He resided in the Mt. Pleasant community prior to moving to Columbia a few years ago.
Survivors include four sons: Arlin and Varley Carr of Monroe; Ervin Carr of Kelly, and Vaden Carr of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Juanita Flores of Houston, Texas; two sisters: Mrs. Mattie Fisher of Columbia, and Mrs. Minnie Price of Arkansas; two brothers: Sylvester Carr and Wesley Carr, both of Columbia; and fourteen grandchildren.
