Maye Emma Martin - Pueblo Chieftain - February 1981 - Mrs. Maye Emma Martin, member of pioneer Pueblo County family and daughter of the late Sarah and Amos McCurry, entered eternal life Feb. 1, 1981, following brief illness. Member of Church of the Ascension, 18th and Grand. Chairman of the Board of Chet's Market's Inc. Born and reared in Pueblo, Mrs. Martin attended Pueblo public schools and was a graduate of Central High School. Preceded in death by husband, Oscar J. Martin, Jan. 14, 1974. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Darla M. Ewing and son, Gerald I. Ewing, both of the family home; three grandchildren, Gregory J. Ewing, Pueblo, Audra Margaret Maye Ewing, family home, and Ramona Ruth Rita Ewing, Pueblo, and Godson, Neil Venuto, Denver. One sister, Mrs. Esther Trent, two brothers, Luther (Irene) McCurry, and Harold (Margaret) McCurry, sister-in-law, Mrs. Kathryn McCurry Tezak, all of Pueblo, also survive as do numerous nieces and nephews. Burial office will be read 2 p.m. Thursday, Church of the Ascension. Interment, Mountain View. Remains will lie in state at Funeral Home until 5 p.m. Wednesday.
