At the age of twenty she united with the Methodist Church being a devoted member until her health failed her. January 22, 1863, she was united in marriage to Randolph Phillips with whom she lived happily until his death August 1, 1915.
The union was blessed with eleven children who grew to womanhood and manhood. In the year 1888, Rachel Elien was called, and in 1894, William F. passed to the Great Beyond. Nine children survive, Meredith of Kansas City; Mrs. Elien Church of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Sam and Oliver of Montezuma; Charley of Danville, Ill.; Pearl of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Mrs. Blanche Moore, who made her home with her mother; a number of grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Deceased also leaves five brothers and three sisters, and a host of other relatives and friends who sincerely mourn the loss pf a loving mother, devoted sister and friend.
