"Eli R. Ratley
Lynnhaven - Eli R. Ratley, 68, of Pine Street, Thalia Village, died Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at his home.
A native of Roberson County, N.C., he lived in Lynnhaven the last 20 years. He was the husband of Mrs. Minnie Harcum Ratley and a son of Jonathan and Mrs Mary Carlisle Ratley.
He was a member of Thalia Methodist Church and was a retired construction worker.
Besides his wife, surviving are one son E. Ray Ratley of Lynnhaven; two daughters, Miss Jean M. Ratley of New York City and Mrs. Carole R Miles of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Rose E. Hayes of Pamora Park, Fla.; and Mrs. Annie R. Malpass of Montague, N.C.; three brothers, George D. Ratley of Red Springs, N.C.; John H Ratley of St. Paul, N.C., and Dennis J. Ratley of Florence, S.C. and three grandaughters.
The body was taken to H D Oliver Funeral Apartments."
