Mrs. Clauson, daughter of Mr and Mrs. John Naslund,(Sarah M. Hansdotter) was born in Norrland, Sweden.(Angermanland province, Vasternorrland Lan, Edsele Socken, Norrnas Farm). At the age of 14 she came to America, coming to Stockholm township, While she was still in Sweden she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and at the age of 16 she was baptized in the Otter Creek river southwest of Kiron and then joined the Ev. Free Mission church. After her marriage she transferred her membership to the Kiron Baptist church.
Annie M. Naslund was married to William Clauson on Jan. 19, 1895, having been married almost 54 years. Mr. and Mrs. Clauson were the parents of five children. Alvin and Myrtle preceded their mother in death. The three surviving are Eldon of St. Paul, Clarence of Deloit and Mabel, Mrs. Ernest Gustafson, also of Deloit. Mrs. Clauson's parents and a brother, Peter, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Clauson is survived by her widower, the three above mentioned children, the grandchildren, Wallace Clauson of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Paulson of Madelia, Minn., Lila Lee and Gordon Clauson of Deloit, and one great grandchild, William Leonard Clauson of St. Paul, Mrs. Myrtle Naslund of Deloit and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Kiron Baptist church Saturday, Dec. 11, under the direction of Rev. A.A.Bloomquist of Arthur. Rev. C.I.Peterson read the scriptures and offered prayer. Pallbearers were Alvin Winquist, Jubal Winquist, Vernal Gustafson, Oscar Johnson, Fred Ogren and Roy Anderson. Interment was in the Kiron cemetery.
Those attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansohn of Ida Grove, Gust Anderson of Lake View, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Abbott, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Anderson and Mrs. Anna Hawley of Vail, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Clauson and Wallace Clauson of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Paulson of Madelia, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. John Naslund and Mr. and Mrs. Ohl of Dunlap, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Carlson and daughter, LaVonne, of Pomeroy, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Anderson and Walter Anderson, all of Pocahontas.
