Floyd grew to manhood in the Kiron area where his father was active in the affairs of the community and in the Baptist church in Kiron. at the age of nine Floyd experienced the untimely death of his mother. At the age of 20 Floyd and his younger brother Everett left to farm near their brother Charles.
12 December 1925 he was married to Fedelie Greene and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1975. They had three children, Mary Ann (Mrs. Paul Lindgren) of Arthur, William and John of Chicago, Illinois and 11 grandchildren, and one grandchild who died in infancy. Following his marriage Floyd spent most of his life farming in Ida County.
He died Saturday, July 24, 1976 following an illness over the past 12 years. Funeral services were held at the Arthur Evangelical Free church Tuesday, July 27 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Lundberg officiating. Wayne Lindskoog was soloist and sang "This Is My Home" and "I Won't Have to Cross Jordan Alone". Pallbearers erer his grandsons Robert Lindberg, Brent Lindgren, Eric Lindberg, Todd Lindberg, Charles Lindberg, Samuel Lindberg, Reed Lindgren, and Robert Youngren. Interment was in the Kiron Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Fedelia, his three children and eleven grandchildren, one sister and one brother as well as a number of other relatives.
