MONROE -- Mrs. Rushing, 58, died Friday, July 23, 2004, as a result of an automobile accident. Mrs. Rushing was born in Charlotte, NC, August 18, 1945, daughter of Ilene Black Jenkins and the late Celestial Oscar Jenkins. Janet was a 1964 graduate of Garinger High School, Charlotte and a retired employee of Wal-Mart. She was preceded in death by a step-son Paul Jonathan Rushing.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at 2:00 PM, in the Benton Heights Church of God. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Janet is survived by her mother, Ilene Jenkins of Arizona; son, Thomas James Quinn, Jr. and fiance, Janet Tina Burell of Charlotte; brothers, Ted Jenkins and James Jenkins of Arizona and Jackie Jenkins of Lexington, SC; a sister, Betty Jo Bradshaw of Shallotte, NC; two half sisters, Jean Roberts and Shirley Drudge of Charlotte, NC; one grandson; three step-children, Tracy Mogoko and husband, Elijah of Charlotte, Christine and Dorothy Rushing both of Monroe and eight step-grandchildren.
