The ladies in this picture are Mary Lawalin's (Lawallin) sisters. It was given to her granddaughter Velma Scott Cook. It is the only picture we have of Mary Florence Lawallin's family or of her.
She married James Snyder(Snider) in Tell City, Perry County Indiana. They had one child before Mary passed away. The child was Flora Ellen Snyder, my grandmother. Flora was a young girl when her mother passed away.
She was a brave little girl and she helped her father in any way she could. Her father, James, maried again when they moved to Passover, Camden Co. Missouri.
Flora married George Harrison Scott in Passover Camden Co. Missouri. George passed away at a young age. Flora lived with Velma and Fred Cook until her death in 1977 . My grandmother Flora was a wonderful lady. She raised her family alone, helped with the grand children and the great grand children. She was only about 4' 11", a little lady with a big heart.
