She Passed Away at 6 O'Clock Yesterday Evening-Other Deaths In and Out of the City.
Mrs. Charlotte Kluppelberg died yesterday evening at 6 o'clock, at her residence on North C street, after an acute illness of six months. Mrs. Kluppelberg's critical illness for some days has been known of, and her death was, therefore, not a surprise to her many friends.
Deceased was a native of Halle, Wittenburg, Germany, having been born there on May 20th, 1818. She married early in life, and afterward, with her husband and three children, came to this country, settling in Charlotte. The family wen tfrom here to Burlington, then Company Shops, and remained five years, returning and ever afterward making this their home.
Mrs. Kluppelburg was a prominent and devout member of the Lutheran Church. The facts of her life were closely interwoven with those of her church and she was active in furthering the work and interest of the church always. She was strictly a good woman, a devoted mother, and a kind neighbor. Her three children, Mrs. J.H. Frits, of Thomasville, Mr. Charles Kluppelburg, of Raleigh, and Mr. Henry Kluppelburg, of this city, survive her.
The funeral service will be conducted this afternoon at 5 o'clock at St. Mark's Lutheran church by Rev. W.G. Campbell, of Concord. The pall bearers will be Messrs. S.E. Linton, J.A. Durham, G.L. Kreuger, N. Duls, C. Valer and Capt. A.G. Brenizer.
