Richard "Dick" Rosander, 80, of Belle Fourche passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care.

Dick was born January 16, 1930 in Sturgis, South Dakota to Pete and Ethel (Baldwin) Rosander. He graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1949. He served in the National Guard.

Dick married Cleo Eddy in 1950. Cleo passed away in 1993. He raised buffalo with his father in the 40's and 50's and while ranching he did some trucking. He managed the Port of Entry into Belle Fourche in the 1970's. He also spent time working at Oahe Dam.

He was a member of the Friends of the Tri-State Museum, the Retreads Motorcycle Club, the Belle Fourche Moose Lodge, the Golden Hills Antique Club and was a member of the United Congregational Church of Christ in Belle Fourche.

Dick was a true gentleman who loved his family, his friends and life. He had a 99% approval rate, everybody adored him as he never met a stranger. Dick never complained about fate and was always eager to do what needed to be done wherever he was.

Survivors include his best friend and partner, Mary Ellen Warren of Belle Fourche; four children, Jon (Sharion) Rosander of Spearfish, Lane (Teina) Rosander of Moses Lake, WA, Tim (Teri) Rosander of Bay Pointe, CA and D'Anna (Dean) Bittner of Belle Fourche; six grandchildren, Justin, Clinton and Brandi Rosander, Ivan Rosander, Darby and Drew Bittner; extended family who loved "Grandpa Dick" dearly, Teri Warren, Dakota and Stone Warren, Cole and Ava Bridenthal all of Fort Myers, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cleo and a son, Brick.

Services are pending with Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche.

The family suggests memorials to the Tri-State Museum, the Hospice of the Northern Hills or the United Congregational Church.
