Marian E. (Robinson) Rockwell of the Keystone Manor in Sayre, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at the Robert Packer Hospital.

She was born Feb. 12, 1906, in N. Rome, Pa., the daughter of the late Fred and Lena Gable Robinson. The family then moved to a farm in Ghent Hill, Pa. Marian married Eugene Rockwell on Oct. 23, 1926. They lived in the Johnson City area for 14 years, then moved back to Ghent and lived on the farm for 37 years. Later, she moved to Finch's Trailer Park in Greens Landing. She also spent a short time living with her daughter in Fairfield, Pa. She moved back into the Keystone manor in 1994.

Marian is survived by: her two daughters, Carmeta Wainwright of Doylestown, Pa., and Marlene (Richard) Ayres of East Smithfield, Pa.; five grandchildren, Cole Shaffer of Towanda, Lana (John) Klein of Levittown, Ronald Bull of Erie, Chris (Marylou) Bull of Wopwallopen, Pa., and Kevin (Kathy) Ayres of East Smithfield; 19 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Marian enjoyed her crocheting, making Barbie doll clothes, was a beautiful seamstress, made wedding gowns and clothing for her daughters, made wood fiber wedding flowers for many people and for special occasions. She always had a garden and enjoyed canning. Most of all she wanted to do things for other people any way she could. She was a member of the N. Rome Wesleyan Church for several years.

She was predeceased by: her parents; her stepmothers Edith Russell Robinson and Virgil Pickering Robinson; an infant sister and an infant brother; her husband Eugene Rockwell in 1981; grandsons Ramon Ayres in 1971 and Mark Bull in 2002; granddaughter Sandra Nero in 2008; great-grandchildren Ronald Bull II in 1973, Nicole Nero in 2002 and Douglas Bull in 2008.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the North Rome Wesleyan Church. Rev. Wolfe and Griffin will officiate the service. Friends may call on the family at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Arrangements are with the Luckner Funeral Home, 449 Park Ave. in Waverly, N.Y.
