Otis L. 'Red' Butler was born Jan. 24, 1924, in Gays, IL, a son of William and Julia Lucinda Carter Butler. He married Norma Jean Huber, Oct. 1, 1944, in Shelbyville.
Surviving are his wife; daughter, Janet (Larry) Feller; brothers, Ray Butler and Virgil Butler; sister, Betty Jean Plummer; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lyle Butler; agreat-grandchild, Benjamin Edgecombe; two brothers, Robert Butler and Emery Ralph 'Pete' Butler and one sister, Lula Marie.
He served in the Navy during World War II, serving in the South Pacific.
