PERRY A. THOMAS DIES SUDDENLY OF PARALYSIS

Was Developer of Thomasboro, Western Suburb -- Funeral at 3 This Afternoon.

Perry A. Thomas, developer of Thomasboro, a suburb to the west of the city, died at his home in Thomasboro early yesterday morning, following a sudden attack of paralysis.

Mr. Thomas on Wednesday evening called on friends in the neighborhood and was suddenly taken ill, succumbing to paralysis about 4:30 o'clock yesterday morning.

The funeral will be conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home, the pastor of McGee Presbyterian church, Rev. L. W. Brown, officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will include the elders of McGee church, which Mr. Thomas aided in founding. They are J.A. Hoover, W.L. Summerville, E.G. Hayes, C.A. McGee and A.M. Alexander. The active pallbearers will be J.T. McGee, S.O. Beatty, E.R. Cathey, W.L. Todd, A.L. Primm and J.W. Rogers, deacons of McGee church.

Mr. Thomas was 67 years of age. He is survived by his second wife, who was Miss Millie Frazier. An adopted son, J.E. Thomas, also survives. Mrs. Sarah Green, a sister, and J.M. Thomas, a brother, are the other immediate survivals. He had three brothers who served in the Confederate army.

Mr. Thomas had considerable land holdings in Mecklenburg, the county of his nativity. He promoted the western suburban development in which he spent the last years of his life. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, donating the land on which was built the McGee church.

He was a citizen of high ideals, standing for the best in the community. He was affiliated with worthy causes, being intensely interested in the welfare of the Mecklenburg Camp, United Confederate veterans.
