Last rites for Jacob P. Ramsey, Byran Township farmer who died Sunday from a sudden stroke, were held in the Mose church Monday, Rev. Raymond Overgard of McHenry officiating. interment was made in the Naroen Cemetery near Mose.
Ramsey, who had been farming alone, was found unconscious at his home by neighbors who visited the place late Sunday morning. He died a few hours later. He was 63.
He was born May 20, 1875 in Naerodalen, Sogn, Norway, was baptized and confirmed in the old country, came to America at the age of 22 and settled in Freeborn County, Minnesota. In 1897 he was united in marriage to Bertina Thompson. On April 1, 1916, he took the family to Mose, and settled on a farm where had resided since. The place on which he died was another farm which he had been operating in recent years.
Surviving him are his wife and eleven children. Palmer and Bernard who live near the Ramsey home; Alvin, Hannaford; Eilert, at home; Albert, Arlington, Wash.; Mrs. Emma Hopestad of Hampden; Mrs. Mathilda Havden of McHenry; Mrs. Corina Rice of Sebaca, Minn; Mrs. Josina Fosberg of Glenfield; Mrs. Nora Hagen, Binford and Olga at home. A brother, Andrew Ramsey, also survives. There are thirty grandchildren.
