Mary Frances Barnett Brashears,
88, of Annapolis, died of a heart
attack Sunday at North Arundel
Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Brashears, who was known
as "Sis," was the owner and operator
of the former Sharpie's Lunchroom
at Washington and Clay streets.
She was a member of Mount
Moriah A.M.E. Church and its Mary
F. Handy Circle.
A native of Parole, she attended
Annapolis schools. She especially
enjoyed cooking.
Surviving are three daughters,
Anna Mae Button, Sallie Coopper
and Celie Howard; one son, Charles
"Sharpie;" 14 grandchildren; 26
great-grandchildren and eight greatgreat
grandchildren.
A Christian wake will begin at
11:30 a.m. Thursday with funeral
services at noon at Mount Moriah
A.M.E. Church, 2204 Bay Ridge Ave.
Burial will be in Pinelawn Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Hicks
Funeral Home.
