Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1;30 p.m. in the Jenkins Mortuary Chapel, 4760 so. State St., for Thomas William Harrop, 75, who died Tuesday at his residence of natural causes.

"Tommy" Harrop operated a confectionery in Murray for 45 years prior to his retirement in 1950. Murray has had few men who have been known by more townspeople than was "Tommy". He also was a charter member of the Murray City volunteer Fire Department.

"Tommy" often was affectionately referred to as "Mayor the the Town."

A native of Tintwhistle, chesire, England, he was born Jan. 18, 1897, a son of Thomas and Sarah Ann Broadbent Harrop. He married Sophia Wickins Taylor in Salt Lake City in 1906. Mrs. Harrop died in 1927.

Survivors include three sons, Marvin T. Harrop, Murray, and Jack T. H. and George H. Harrop, Salt Lake City; two brothers, Edwin Harrop, Murray, and Joseph H. Harrop, Los Angeles; seven grandchildren.
