Funeral service for Anna Fae Carter will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 27, 2017 in the First Baptist Church in Sterling, Oklahoma with Rev. Bubba Clark, pastor of Denton Baptist Church, Marlow, Oklahoma officiating.
Burial will follow in Sterling Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home, Lawton.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Anna Fae Carter, age 90, of Lawton, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, April 22, 2017.
She was born January 8, 1927, in Bolivar, Texas to Judson (J.K.) Knox Manning and Roxie Belle Miller. She spent most of her childhood in Lawton, graduating from Lawton High School in 1944. Soon after, she married Albert D. Morgan. They had 3 children together before divorcing in 1956. She then moved her children to Sterling in 1963, where they all graduated.
Anna Fae later married the love of her life, Felix W. Carter, in 1974. They were happily married for 22 years before he passed in 1997. Anna worked in the Supply Division for Civil Service at Fort Sill Army Base before retiring after 30 years in 1984. She was a charter member of Northside Baptist Church in Lawton, later moving her letter to Sterling First Baptist Church where she remained a member for over 50 years.
She is survived by her three children: Judy Ball and husband Bobby Ball, Sterling; Janet Whitmore and husband Charles C. Whitmore Jr., Lawton; and Ronnie Morgan, Fletcher; six grandchildren: Lanny Glass, Lawton; Tracy Schaver, Oklahoma City; Steven Tyrone and wife Joy, Bethany; Crystal Rowe, Lawton; Justin Gilliland, Lawton; and Ronnie (Skip) Morgan, Fletcher; Eight great-grandchildren: Jesse, Dakota, Devan, Caden, Cooper, Corbin, Abby, and Emma; six step-children: Karen Gamet, Rhonda Carter, Tammy Carter Harris, Donnie Carter, John David Carter, and Ricky Carter; numerous step-grandchildren; one special daughter-in-law, Pat Carter; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix W. Carter, her parents, and three brothers: Jim, Lewis, and John Manning.
