Wilkes-Barre --- Ernest J. Setta, of Willow Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday at the Hospice Community Care Department of Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born September 7, 1913, in Jessup, he was the son of the late Bernard and Bianca (Viola) Setta.
He was formerly employed as a welder for Pagnotti Mining, Pittston, and prior to his retirement in 1972, he worked for Biscontini Co., Nanticoke.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre.
He and his wife, the former Irma Aretini, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on Dec. 12, 1994.
He was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers, not all names are known.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Sharon Warman, Lee Park section of Wilkes-Barre; two sons Bernard Setta of Endwell, N.Y. and Dino Setta of Wilkes-Barre; two sisters, Laura Coma of Peckville and Mary Canavari of Jessup; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. from the Mamary Durkin Funeral Home, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Community Care, 385 Wyoming Ave., Kingston.
