NOW AT REST.
After weeks and months of the most intense suffering, Mrs. Sarah L Allen passed peacefully away, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo H. Siple, Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, entering that sweet and consoling rest prepared for those who trust their Heavenly Father, and where there is no suffering or pain. When a girl 12 years old she was converted, all these years has been a member of the Methodist church with a steadfast trust in her Saviour, which she maintained until the end came. Sarah L. Hubbard was born in New York State May 27th, 1837, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hubbard, of Charlotte, early pioneers of Michigan. Being the eldest of nine children she took a mother's place in the home of her younger brothers and sisters and share all the privations of those early days. In 1859 she was united in marriage to Alexander Allen. Three children were born to them: Mrs. A. E Randall of Kalamazoo, Robert H. Allen of Coloma and Mrs. Geo. H. Siple of this place. These, with three step-children: Mrs. S. G. Scott of Plainwell, Mrs. E. J. Foster of Rockford, Ill., and Geo. W. Allen of Hastings, besides two brothers, four sisters and an aged mother, survive her. The funeral was held from the home of Mrs. Siple yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. D. Skinner, and her remains were interred beside those of her husband in Mountain Home cemetery. The text for the funeral sermon was "Come unto Me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give thee rest," being one chosen by Mrs. Allen several weeks ago. Those who attended the funeral from away were; Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Allen of Hastings, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Randall and sons, Harry and Ray, of Kalamazoo, Mrs. L. G. Scott and Walter B. Scott of Plainwell, Mrs. Frank Tuttle of Alba, Mich., Robert H. Allen, Coloma, Mich., Robert Huhbard, Charlotte.
