Richard was the son of Robert and Florence (Hoover) Treat Fagan.

MARBLEHEAD, Dec. 10 - A service for Staff Sgt. Richard H. Treat of Marblehead, one of six men lost in the disappearance of an Army medium bomber over the Florida Everglades or Gulf of Mexico Nov. 17, will be held at St. Michael's Episcopal Church at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The son of Mrs. Florence H. Fagan of 199 Atlantic avenue, Marblehead, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps after Pearl Harbor and reported for duty Dec. 27, 1941. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Marblehead High School and the Lenox Boys School at Lenox. His mother has received official notice from the Army that he must be considered as "lost."

Besides his mother, he leaves two sisters, Miss Ruth B. Treat and Miss Shirley Treat, both of Marblehead, and his grandmother, Mrs. Lillian Bright Carroll of Laconia, N.H. and Daytona Beach, Fla. He was the great-grandson of John J. Bright, one of the founders of the Boston Elevated.
