The Tattnall Journal March 23, 1989

James L. Higgs,60, died Tuesday at home after a short illness. The Colt, Ark., native lived in Cayce, S.C., before moving to Glennville. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, and a member of Mt. Herman Lutheran Church in Columbia, S.C.
Surviving are is wife, Mrs. Babe N. Higgs of Glennville, a daughter, Mrs. Harriett Ferguson of Dallas, a son, Jimmy Higgs of Cayce; two sisters, Mrs. Inez Higgs and Mrs. Bernadine Harris both of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Edwin Higgs of Colt; and a stepdaughter.
Graveside services were held at 3 pm last Thursday at Glennville City Cemetery.
Rimes Mortuary in charge.
