Mrs. Etta POOL, with all of her children at her bedside, passed away in Canadian, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul BRYANT, on June 21, 1947 at the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 27 days, after an illness of several months.

Mrs. Etta POOL nee PALMER, was born in Kankakee, Illinois on April 23, 1863. When only a young girl, the family moved to McCune, Kansas, and later to Colorado, where she taught school. She was married to J. L. POOL at La Junta, Colorado in 1891. They located near Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Mr. and Mrs. POOL moved to Canadian in June of 1938. Mr. POOL passed away in 1939.

Mrs. POOL became a member of the Methodist Church when only a child and had always led an active Christian life. She had been a Methodist steward and taught a Sunday School class for many years. those who knew her best say that to converse with her religiously was to enjoy a spiritual feast, since she was able to talk of her relationship with God as she talked of her other friends.

Mrs. POOL helped to rear several children besides her own and two elderly gentlemen found her home a welcome haven for several years. She was noted for her hospitality and friendliness.

Mrs. POOL is survived by three children: Mrs. Paul BRYANT of Canadian, Glen POOL, of Wichita Falls, and Harold POOL, of Lela, Texas, by one granddaughter: Mrs. Jack KING of Canadian; by two great-grandchildren: by a number of nephews and nieces; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church in Canadian with the Rev. Joe E. Boyd in charge.

Pallbearers were Harry KING, Frank HUTTON, Tom REED, L. P. WARD, Tom ABRAHAM, and Harry RATHJEN.
