Ralph Crayton "R.C." Kale, Jr., 64, of Catawba, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. He was born June 29, 1945 in Catawba County to the late Ralph Kale, Sr. and Goldie Munday Kale.

Mr. Kale was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean Conflict, and a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Catawba. He was a foreman for a sprinkler system company.

R.C. is survived by a daughter, Robin Robinson of Lake Wylie, SC; son, Randy Crayton Kale and daughter-in-law, Mariah of Catawba; grandchildren, Taylor Robinson and Nicci Robinson; and sisters, Kay Kale Dumas and Sybil Smith, both of Catawba.

A service of remembrance will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Sailors officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside honors by American Legion Post 16.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be John Ervin,Jeff Robinson, Johnny Wilson, Rick Sigmon, Brian Pratt, and Danny Wyke.

Memorials may be made to Concord United Methodist Church, 7618 Monbo Road, Catawba, NC 28609.

The Kale family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Conover, NC.
