William Thomas "Tom" Flanagan was the son of William Elijah Flanagan and Amanda Frances Rousseau. He married his 3rd cousin, Josephine "Josie" Flanagan in 1903. She was the daughter of William Hollis Flanagan and Elsie Archey. They had 2 children: Gertrude Flanagan and Georgia Beatrice Flanagan. Josephine died only 3 weeks after giving birth to Georgia and Georgia died when she was only 3 months old. After Josephine's death in 1907, he married Hattie Clemons Flanagan on Nov. 27,1908 and they lived in Paint Rock and Garth, AL. They had 7 children:

William Thomas "Tom" Flanagan was a bookkeeper at the Rousseau Bros. store in Paint Rock, AL, a farmer and a preacher. He preached at the Primitive Baptist Church until his death in 1968.
