Richard Michael Grieco, 72, of Marblehead, died August 30, 2005, at Salem Hospital.

Born in Swampscott, he was the son of the late Michael-Angelo and Sylvia (Ness) Grieco.

Mr. Grieco had resided in Marblehead for the past 67 years.

He was a graduate of Marblehead High School, Class of 1952.

A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Grieco served with the United States Army. He had worked as a boat builder with Hood's Boat Yard for many years and was self-employed in the antique business for more than 40 years.

Mr. Grieco is survived by his former wife, Audrey (Nye) Newman of Lynn; his daughter, Linda Grieco of Marblehead; his sister, Louise Wade of Marblehead; two brothers, John P. Grieco of Buffalo, N.Y. and Michael Grieco of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his dog, Jacob.

He was also the father of the late Richard Steven Grieco.

At Mr. Grieco's request, there will be no services. Arrangements are by the Goodrich Funeral Home of Lynn.
