The Rev. Edgar Roy Waybright, 78, of Academy Street, Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at the Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.

He was born April 23, 1925, at Kerns, a son of the late John Ed and Sophia Clayton Waybright.

He was united in marriage on Sept. 20, 1947, to Wanda J. Coberly Waybright who survives.

He is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Waybright-Bass of Culpeper, Va., Elizabeth Vincent and husband, Ron, of Bridgeport and Lori Ann Wolmack of Charlottesville, Va.; two sons, Michael E. Waybright of Frederick, Md., and Mark Waybright and wife, Suzanne, of Philadelphia, N.Y.; one brother, Virgil Waybright of Elkins; 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clifton Waybright, Guy Waybright, Burl Waybright and Jim Waybright; and four sisters, Jessie Hottle Martha Hedrick, Edna Bodkin and Ethel Carr.

Waybright was the pastor of the Frenchton Assembly Church for 18 years, served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 during World War II, and in the Air Force from 1950 to 1969, at which time he retired.

Also, he retired from the Department of Highways in 1987.
Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Heater and the Rev. Don Elmer officiating.

Burial will follow at Parsons Family Cemetery. The Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel, Inc. is in charge of arrangements for the Rev. Edgar R. Waybright.
