Joe was born in Cambridge on May 30, 1948, a son of the late Joseph and Barbara (Whalen) Gallagher. He was a Waltham resident for many years and served with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Joe was the husband of the late Joan C. (Jensen) Gallagher and the brother of the late Robert Gallagher. He is survived by his children, Lisa J. Puccia and her husband, Albert, Robert J. Gallagher and his wife, Denise, and Michael R. Gallagher and his wife, Heather and eight grandchildren.
