FLATWOODS — Mary M. Riffe Hamilton, 98, of Flatwoods, Ky., died Sept. 19, 2010, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
She was born July 26, 1912, in Honeywell, Ky., a daughter of the late Ed and Margaret Kouns Riffe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, MacDonald Hamilton; two daughters, Barbara Boggs and Phyllis Hamilton; a special grandchild, Chuck Hamilton; four brothers, Clifford Riffe, William "Bub" Riffe, Charles Riffe and Henry "Pee Wee" Riffe; and two sisters, Lottie Riffe and Lucy Justice.
She was a homemaker and a member of Danleyton United Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sons, Charles (Barb) Hamilton, Mac (Joy) Hamilton Jr., Virgil (Betty) Hamilton and Leonard (Connie) Hamilton, all of Greenup, Ky.; two daughters, Frances (Gene) Vanderhoof of Flatwoods and Janet (Dave) Simpson of Wurtland, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by Bishop Henry Montgomery. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery on Ky. 207 in Greenup, Ky.
