She was a foster grandparent for 16 years, Foster Grandparent of the Year in 2006 and a member of North Highlands Church of Christ. Funeral services were Sept. 29 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Keith Barnett officiating. Burial was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Pearl Pounders; husband, William T. Jackson; four brothers; five sisters; granddaughter, Cindy Kimbrough; and great-great grandchildren, Jordan Smith and Jayden Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Freida Swindle and Janice (Charlie) Daniels; grandchildren, Julie (Terry) Moore, Stephanie (Steve) Gandy, Jeffery (Jonna) Smith; step-grandchildren, Marla Corbell, Patrick Daniels and Laura Hall; great-grandchildren, Brian Kimbrough, Elizabeth Moore, Kelley Moore, Abby Moore, Andrew Moore, Lauren Murray and Jackson Smith; step-great-grandchildren, Paige Daniels, Danny Hall and Lee Hall; great-great-grandchild, Madison Kimbrough; sisters, Bernice King and Doris Barber; special friend and longtime companion, Burnese Burleson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
