Iva was a homemaker. She was known by her many grandchildren as Granny. She died on Friday, August 16, 2002, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. At the time of her death she left behind two sons: Richard and Wallace Lee Farris; five daughters: Marie, Juanita, Sylvie, Sue Dell, and Kathy. Also a step-brother: Garland Deaton. Iva lived to see thirty-two grandchildren along with several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steel. Her funeral was held on Saturday, August 17, 2002.
