Herbert C. Keaton, Sr. 70 of Montpelier,Va. passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Herbert was the owner and operator of Keaton Construction for 42 years. He enjoyed playing Bluegrass-Gospel music and singing.
Survivors include his wife Shelby Jean Keaton; four children; Linda Stanley and her husband Scott of Bumpass, Herbert Keaton, Jr. and wife Janice of Montpelier, Robert Keaton and wife Trixie, and Mary Stanley all of Louisa.
He raised Julia Stanley (her husband David) of Montpelier, Scotty Stanley of Bumpass and the late Linwood Dunivan of Mineral, VA.
His two step-children; Deborah Ballard and husband Roger of Odd, West VA and Joey Glenn and wife Cynthia of Bob White, West VA.; fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three sister; Lorena Gatherole of Walkerton, VA.; Hettie Tilly of Kentucky; Vicky Sproull of California; one brother; Dr. Rev. James Basil Keaton, of Hardy, VA.
Herbert was a loving caring person who helped anyone in need and turned no one away. He will truly be missed.
