The Glen Morgan, W.Va., native was a Fort Wayne resident for 25 years. He was an engineer for C&O Railroad in Beckley, W.Va., and retired as a fabricator for Almet Inc. in New Haven. He was past commander of Woodburn American Legion Post 377 and was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Esta E.; a daughter, Carolyn Sowers of Woodburn; sisters, Marjorie Clark and Alma Miller, both of Vero Beach, Fla., and Ruth Bowlings of Taylors, S.C.; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 U.S. 30 E. New Haven, where calling will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery with military graveside services by Woodburn American Legion Post 377.
Preferred memorials are gifts to the Anderson, S. C. Hospice.
