JOHN L. LARE, 93, of Fort Wayne died Wednesday at Meadowwood Retirement Community, Bloomington.

The Van Wert, Ohio, native retired from General Electric Co. in 1963 after 42 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church; Huntertown Lodge No. 689, F & AM; Fort Wayne Valley Scottish Rite; Mizpah Shrine and a past patron of Huntertown Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are his daughter, Doris P. Brineman of Bloomington; sisters, Thelma Richhart of Valparaiso, Gertrude Vollrath of Findlay, Ohio; a brother, Robert C. of Oregon; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. His wife, Patricia M., died in 1981.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 609 Putnam St. Calling is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Burial is in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven.
