Lewis Hollis Allred
Lewis Hollis Allred, 82, Springfield, passed away at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 1998, in St. John's Regional Health Center. Mr. Allred, a retired bus driver with the wichita Transit, was born Aug. 12, 1915, in Jamestown, Tenn., the son of Allen A. and Mary (Bowden) Allred. He was united in marriage July 4, 1936, in Albany, Ky., to Ima Hurst. Hollis was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a membr of St. Luke's Methodist Church, Bois D'Arc, and enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ima; two sons, Bruce Allred, Beaumont, Texas, and David Allred, Brighton, Mo.; a daughter, Sue McCollom, Aurora, Colo.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, April 17, 1998, in St. Luke's Methodist Church, Bois D'Arc, under direction of Ayre-Goodwin-Lee, a Heritage Funeral Home at Rivermonte. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.
